This is the most "Islay" of Islay malts, the most peaty of all single malts. Lagavulin Distiller Edition 2022 also benefits from a second maturation: with its powerful temperament, dry and complex, with its characteristic marine notes, it goes wonderfully well with the sweet accents of sun-dried grapes emanating from the Pedro-Ximenez casks. This second maturation gives it a powerful, complex temperament.
